Biography

Dr Yalda Hakemi graduated from the Azad University of Medical Sciences, Iran. She worked as a general resident in various Adelaide hospitals for about two years  (Flinders Medical  Centre Network). Then moved to Sydney where she started as an Anatomical pathology registrar at Wollongong Hospital. After a year, she continued her training at Westmead Hospital with different rotations to Nepean Hospital and Douglas Hanly Moir pathology. She obtained the RCPA fellowship in January 2021. Dr Hakemi worked as a postgraduate fellow in Liverpool Hospital and then joined LAV Pathology in July 2021. She is passionate about teaching registrars. Her main fields of interest are breast pathology, gastrointestinal pathology, respiratory pathology and dermatopathology.
