Biography

Dr Paul Downe graduated in Medicine from The University of New South Wales in 2005. After completing general residency training, he undertook physician training at Concord Hospital, followed by specialist training in both clinical and laboratory haematology at the Royal North Shore and Liverpool Hospitals, leading to dual fellowships from the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and the and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Dr Downe’s clinical practice is based at the Southside Cancer Care Centre in Miranda where he also serves as the Director of Clinical Services. He combines clinical work with his role as a pathologist in the haematology laboratory at LAV Pathology. He has a particular interest in disorders of the bone marrow and performs and analyses over 150 bone marrow biopsies annually.
