Laverty Pathology will generally bulk-bill (no gap) all testing covered by Medicare.
Laverty Pathology has the practice of directly billing Medicare ('bulk billing') for all referrals for testing covered under the Medicare Benefits Schedule.
There are however rare occasions where an invoice will be issued and payment may be required. These occasions include where you or the testing is not covered by Medicare, the request form is not signed and completed in compliance with Medicare rules, the test is not performed by Laverty Pathology or you are an inpatient or day stay patient in a private hospital and your health insurer does not have a “no gap” agreement with Laverty Pathology.
Important: In the event of the account being in default and being referred to an external party for collection, the patient shall be liable for costs arising from default including legal demand letters.
