  • 1972: Graduated from University of Sydney (MBBS)
  • 1975 - 1979:Trained in Anatomical Pathology at St, Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney
  • 1979: Admitted to Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia
  • 1980 - 2004: Practised as histopathologist at several private laboratories, including one owned and directed by him
  • 2004 - Current: Commenced working for Laverty Pathology (formerly SDS Pathology)
  • Current Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists
  • Current privileges at numerous Sydney based private hospitals including St Vincent’s, St Luke’s, Westmead, North Shore and Sydney Private and Macquarie University Hospitals, among others

Special Interests: Pathology of the skin; GIT and urinary tract as well as in general surgical pathology. Dr Gal has had extensive close interaction with general plastic and, in particular, oculoplastic surgeons. In the latter field, in conjunction with surgical colleagues he has developed a modified Moh’s technique for the extremely close excision of facial cancers and published data on 30 years’ experience in this field.
