Biography

  • 1952: Graduated with first class Honours from The University of London (BSc)
  • 1954: Graduated from The University of London (MBBS)
  • 1957 - 1959: National service RAMC, retired with rank of Captain
  • 1959 - 1960: Trained as a Physician
  • 1960: Admitted to MRCP, Edinburgh
  • 1960 - 1963: Trained in pathology at the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary, Sheffield Royal Infirmary and Jessop Hospitals
  • 1963: Awarded MD by thesis in London; awarded MRCPath UK
  • 1963: Appointed as Director of Pathology at the Royal Hospital for Women in Paddington, Sydney
  • 1964: Admitted to FRCPA
  • 1969: Became a Foundation member of the ASC
  • 1974: Awarded MAACB and MIAC
  • 1975: Admitted to FRCPath UK.
  • 1983: Admitted to FRCP, Edinburgh
  • 1984: Appointed Director of Anatomical Pathology at ICPMR, Westmead
  • 1991: Appointed Deputy Director ICPMR, Westmead
  • 1991 - 1993: Appointed President of RCPA
  • 1991: Appointed Clinical Associate Professor, University of Sydney
  • 1998: Admitted to FRANZCOG ad eundem
  • 2008: Appointed to the position of Surgical Pathologist and Cytopathologist at Laverty Pathology
  • Current membership of several scientific societies
  • Well-published in peer reviewed journals as well as being an invited speaker at National and International Meetings
Special interests: Gynaecologic and obstetric pathology and cytopathology; perinatal and foetal pathology and dysmorphology.
